Advancements in communications technology have changed many things in our lives, including the way we think and react to news. The rapid pace of information flow, coupled with the increasing unpredictability of global event outcomes, has made investing an exceptionally challenging endeavour. Even professional money managers have had to adjust their investing philosophies. Yet, not investing at least some disposable income is not an option, especially given the low interest rate environment; growing familial expectations; the realities of shorter industry, product and career lifecycles; and the postponement of retirement due to the increase in average life expectancy. Growing wealth earlier in life is beneficial for taking advantage of investment compounding sooner. However, taking financial risks does not mean one needs to lose sleep.

Join us at SMU Evenings : Faculty Conversations as Mr Ang Ser Keng from the Lee Kong Chian School of Business shares a clear roadmap of how to grow wealth, as well as how to become a savvy investor, setting up a small portfolio and growing it across one’s lifecycle.
