Alumni Reunion in the City
by Deborah Looi (Undergraduate, School of Economics)

The evening of 3rd October saw more than 250 alumni come together at the city campus for a celebration. Organised jointly by the SMU Alumni Association (SMUAA) and the Alumni Relations Office, the event, Alumni Reunion in the City, was especially meaningful as it was also an occasion to present the SMUAA Honorary Alumnus Award. SMU management and faculty were present to welcome alumni back to the university.
The celebration was held at the new University Lounge at the Administration Building. The lounge, located on the 6th level, resembled a jazz cum chill-out bar, boasting a small bar, a large-screen TV, comfortable sit-down areas and a foosball table that unsurprisingly proved popular with the guys that evening.
The night’s entertainment was provided by three bands familiar to all alumni – The Stageit! Hommies, 7 Till Dawn and Guitarissimo.
Mr Neil Yang, Graduating Class of 2008 said, “This is what we were looking forward to – great music, great drinks, great company.”
