Editor's Notes
Dear Alum,
The re-launch of Communiqué in January after a brief hiatus was a great success. Your positive feedback and constructive comments have inspired and motivated the editorial team. We are also heartened to receive more news from you. Thank you all for your support!
As always, we welcome your opinion about the content of Communique, so let us know what you think! If you are having trouble viewing this site, please click or copy and paste this link into your browser: http://www.smuaa.org.sg/newsletters/issue5/index.asp. It is our credo to provide the best information to you as we listen, hear, share, and communicate.
SMU alumni are different. And they strive to use their success, skills, and creativity to make a difference in the lives of others. With all this talent in our midst, we’ve had difficulty in uncovering tales of personal and professional pride. It seems modesty is another redeeming quality many SMU alumni share.
Modesty aside, we want to share your story with the SMU community. We have lots of opportunities to spread the news to other alumni, students, and your favourite faculty. This issue’s alumni profiles gives you a peek into Edmund Ng’s life, (he’s known campus-wide and beyond for his successful brownie business). Our columnist and alum, Marie Wong, will share her exciting experiences in China with you. And reminisce as you read about fond memories of the Bukit Timah days. We will continue to update you with campus news as well as developments from the SMUAA.
Success begets success, and news of our accomplished alumni can only reinforce the quality of education at SMU, and in turn increase the value of your own degree. So don't be shy. Send us an email, and photos, about your recent promotion, award, career change or accomplishment. Or if you prefer, updates on your newborn, or relocation to an exotic region for work. We want to hear from as many of you as possible, and so do your classmates, friends on campus and in the SMU community.
Wishing you a great year ahead … and Happy Reading!
Warmest Regards,
Qiao Feifei
Director of Communication
