Benefits & Privileges

Exclusive privileges are just some of the things you can look forward to with your SMUAA membership. The range of privileges that can be enjoyed depends on your choice of Add-on Privileges.

SMUAA Membership

The SMUAA Membership is available at an annual fee of $50. SMUAA members can enjoy the following:

Access to campus ground

Access all turnstiles on campus except Library, Gym and Pool.
Access to and use of University Lounge
The University Lounge is situated on Level 6 of the Administration Building
Walk-in Access to Li Ka-Shing Library
  • Access the Li Ka-Shing Library by tapping through the turnstiles with your SMUAA membership card. Non-SMUAA alumni are requested to register at the Library Security Desk
  • Walk-in access allows you to read library books within the library.
  • For full Library privileges, please sign up for the “Li Ka-Shing Library Membership” add-on below.
Wi-Fi Access on City Campus
Login to the campus Wi-Fi network using your SMU ID (yourname.year@smu.edu.sg) when you're around campus. To reset your password, please visit http://www.smu.edu.sg/alumni/services/lifelongemail.asp.
Discounted rates to alumni events
Enjoy significant discounts when you attend our social events and professional development events!
UniVantage Discounts
Show your SMUAA membership card at participating merchants. Special offers on top of the usual discounts are broadcasted through the Alumni
Weekly Updates sent to your Active Email.
Your Active Email need not be your SMU email address.
Eligibility to vote at SMUAA Annual General Meetings and stand for elections to the SMUAA Executive Committee
 
 
 

Add-on Privileges

SMUAA Members who wish to enjoy additional campus facilities are welcome to sign up for add-on privileges. Alumni must sign up for the SMUAA membership in order to be eligible for add-on privileges, and we regret that signing up for add-on privileges without the membership is not permissible.

The following facilities and services are available at affordable annual fees. Alumni may choose to add-on any of the following privileges to their membership plans:

Gym and Swimming Pool
Access to and use of University Gym and Pool

Access to the University Gymnasium
  • Located along the concourse under the School of Economics.
  • The biggest gymnasium with the most state-of-the-art equipment amongst Singapore education institutions.
  • Equipped with 33 cardio machines, close to 20 stack-weight machines, a wide variety of free weights and 2 studios - one for aerobic fitness or dance classes and one for spinning, with 21 Lemond spinning bikes.

For security purposes, all SMUAA members with “Gym and Swimming Pool” add-on are requested to produce their membership cards at the Gym Reception to sign in and out. Entry will be denied otherwise.
Access to the Rooftop Swimming Pool
  • Located on Level 6, SMU Administration Building. The Swimming Pool is accessible via escalator
    from Level 5.
  • Equipped with a sauna room, lockers and shower rooms.

For security purposes, all SMUAA members with “Gym and Swimming Pool” add-on are requested to produce their membership cards at the Pool Counter to sign in and out. Entry will be denied otherwise.

Li Ka-Shing Library Membership

Walk-in Access to Li Ka-Shing Library
  • Located along Stamford Road above the concourse, between Campus Green and the Visitor Centre.
  • SMUAA membership card required to enter the Library turnstiles. Access will not be granted without a valid membership card.
  • Access the Li-Ka Shing Library by tapping through the turnstiles with your SMUAA membership card.
Borrowing of books/materials
May borrow up to a maximum of 6 books at a time from the Lending Collection. Items borrowed may be renewed once.
Course Reserve materials are available upon request at the Library's Help Desk.
Course Reserve materials are only available for a 2-hour maximum on-site loan. Photocopy machines are also available for use.
Databases can be accessed both on-site and off-site.

Preferential parking rates are separate discounted parking rates charged in addition to the annual
fee of $60.
Preferential parking rates are only applicable to the SMU Carpark at the Administration Building,
81 Victoria Street.
The car park entrance is closed at 0000 and opens at 0600 daily.
