President's Message

Dear fellow alumni,

The past years have seen the SMUAA make great strides in improving our engagement with the Association's core stakeholders, you. Through our initiatives such as, inter alia , the personal development programs, professional development programs, and social & networking events, we sought to create opportunities to reminisce about old times, and to re-connect old friends and classmates.

Leadership renewal - The SMUAA held its fifth Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 26 November 2010, electing a new Executive Committee to serve you for a two year term starting 1 January 2011. As you may notice, deliberate measures were taken to attract and renew the leadership of the EXCO, ensuring that new blood is consistently introduced to the team.

Committed to serving you - I am delighted to share that we have a strong team of committed individuals who will do their best, in their respective portfolios, to forward your interests within the SMU community. You can find out more about the EXCO members, and the latest information regarding our alumni association and our activities at the SMUAA website, www.smuaa.org.sg .

Give us your feedback - I encourage you to provide us with feedback on how we can improve. We are under no illusions to think that we have arrived, far from it. And, we need your assistance in making the experience of serving you a more fulfilling one for everyone. You can reach us at smuaa@smu.edu.sg . Feel free to drop us a word of encouragement, or constructive criticism, we appreciate the time you take to contribute back to the development of your very own alma mater.

I hope you will have a great year ahead, and that the holiday season has been kind to you and your family. As the blessing from Saint Patrick goes, “May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, May the rains fall soft upon your fields, And, until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand”.

See you at our alumni events this year.

Yours Sincerely,

Yeo Zhong Yi (BBM / BAcc, Graduating Class of 2008)
